Meng Xia will join Texas A&M University in January 2024 as a tenure-track assistant professor in the computer science and engineering department. She is now a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research probes the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Data Visualization, and Education Technology. Specifically, her current research focuses on creating human-centered data-driven systems for personalized online learning, including using data visualization, AR/VR, and NLP techniques. She has published over 20 papers at top conferences, including ACM CHI, IEEE VIS, ACM CSCW, and education technology conferences.
Meng Xia has received recognition for her work, including one best paper award from CHI 2022, one honorable mention award from VIS 2022, and one best poster award from VIS 2019. She also serves as a program committee member for CHI, VIS, CSCW, IUI, LAK, etc, and a youth editor for the journal Visual Informatics. Before joining CMU, she received her Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and worked as a postdoc at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
